Even though defensive lineman Aaron Donald is not present at this week’s Rams-required minicamp, head coach Sean McVay has maintained that the absence of Donald is not a significant cause for worry.
McVay explained that the reason Donald and offensive lineman Alaric Jackson were not required to attend the obligatory training camp was due of “family stuff.”
When asked to explain why both Donald and wide receiver Cooper Kupp were absent from optional Organized Team Activities, McVay referred to “family stuff” as the reason for both of their absences.
Rams’ obligatory minicamp exempts Aaron Donald
After suffering an ankle injury the previous year, Kupp has returned for the required minicamp that is taking place this week and looks to be at full speed.
Donald stated about a month ago that the thought of retiring during this summer never entered his mind, despite the fact that there has been speculation that he may be close to making a decision to leave the game.
The Rams are counting on Donald to be ready to play whenever they call on him, but they are going to give him some time off in the month of June.
