It is anticipated that Manchester United will make an official approach to Chelsea over the possible transfer of midfielder Mason Mount.
It is said that internal negotiations over a potential offer are still ongoing, and Mount is one of a handful of midfielders that United is looking at in what is considered to be a priority position this summer.
If a deal can be made, it is believed that individual conditions will not be a barrier to moving forward with the transaction.
The contract that Mount has with Chelsea is set to expire in June of 2024.
The uncertainty surrounding his future at Stamford Bridge has prompted Manchester United to inquire on a number of occasions as to whether or not he would be available to play for them during the upcoming campaign.
Mount has not participated in a game for Chelsea since April due to a pelvic injury that required surgery. As a result, Mount will miss the remainder of the current season. It seemed as though he was saying his farewell after the disappointing 1-1 draw at home against Newcastle United on Sunday, which brought an end to the season.
Mount has made 36 appearances for England and started for them in the loss to Italy in the final of the Euro 2020 tournament.
