According to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports, Michigan made a late strong push and is now “back in consideration” for the transfer of Tennessee forward Oliver Nkamhoua, who had allegedly trimmed his list of alternatives down to Baylor and West Virginia.
Baylor and West Virginia were apparently his top two choices.
The decision from the former Volunteer is scheduled to be made later this week, but given how frequently the narrative has shifted throughout this recruitment process, it is possible that it may not be made for some time.
Olivier Nkamhoua is No Longer Competing Against Two Teams
They would presumably prefer to hear a choice quickly so that they can make arrangements for what to do next if they are unable to land him, and West Virginia is probably no different than the other institutions that are considering offering him a scholarship.
If Nkamhoua decides to sign with West Virginia, the Mountaineers’ projected starting frontcourt already includes Tre Mitchell and Syracuse transfer Jesse Edwards, therefore Nkamhoua would most likely come off the bench for the Mountaineers.
