Due to the fact that high school athletics are presently on break, we are going to highlight a local male and female athlete each week as they pursue their interests over the summer months.
Kyle Lane, who attends Crooksville Middle School and is in the eighth grade, is a member of the Muskingum County Muckdogs 13U baseball team.
Left fielder and pitcher Lane has taken the mound for a total of 13 games, the majority of which have come from the bullpen. The left-handed pitcher has thrown 27 innings and has an earned run average of 3.329.
The batter’s box is where Lane does the majority of his damage. The quick leadoff hitter has a batting average of.429, nine doubles, and an incredible 47 stolen bases at the moment.
In July, the Muckdogs will take part in the Cal Ripken tournament, which is the same competition in which they advanced to the semifinals the previous year.
