The 2023 Little League All-Star season started with the District 10 Tournament for 11-12-year-old softball and Junior League softball on Thursday and Little League baseball on Saturday.

DuBois will have nine All-Star teams this summer—four in softball and five in baseball—one more than last year. Due to no District 10 bracket for Senior League softball, DuBois will not have a team.

The 11-12-year-old Little League softball team won its opener against St. Marys 18-1 in four innings and heads to Punxsutawney tonight for a winners’ bracket game in the nine-team bracket.

The team includes Calli Bash, Presleigh Evock, Reese Glass, Joanna Hayes, Campbell Johnson, Allie LaBue, Paityn Lange, Theresa McBride, Abegail Snell, Josie Suhan, Emery Tekely, Capri Weyand. Josh Johnson and Zach Bash aid League League manager Doug Snell.

The Junior League softball All-Stars debut Thursday as Brockway with Elliette Brewer, Sumari Carr, Stasija Daniluk, Addison Edinger, Claire Gallagher, Sydney Graham, Brielle Gray, Abby Kalgren, Addison Lilja, Maggie Mauthe, Lily Sachs, Tessa Tekely.

DuBois hosts Brookville on Saturday.

Mike Gray Sr., Doug Kalgren, and Sarah Henninger help Juniors manager Andrew Lilja. Four teams—DuBois, Brockway, Punxsutawney, and Potter/McKean—compete in the Junior League tournament.

The six-team DuBois Minor League (8-10 year old) softball team begins District 10 play Sunday at Bradford.

Alivia Barbey, Hailee Brubaker, Ana Cooper, Lexi Glass, Liza Gray, Jo Jo Helm, Rosie Helm, Regan Kennis, Avery Pfingstler, Gi Gi Sachs, Chloe Straub, and Aubree Wright form that squad.

John Helm and Greg Sachs will aid Minors manager Lisa Pfingstler. The District 10 champion will compete in the Brookville Section 1 Tournament on July 12-16.

The 11-year-old All-Stars are DuBois’ only District 10 softball team this year. They may participate in the Section 1 Tournament or straight in the state tournament, which will be held in Wellsboro from July 28 to Aug. 3.

Keith Lepionka, Lorianne Barbey, and Stan Smochek will coach the 11-year-olds. Team members include Jacie Bash, Elaina Deasey, Julia Dinkfelt, Abigail Gates, Alexis Gibson, Alyson Kalgren, Josie Knepp, Lizzie Lepionka, Makenzie Popson, Eberlee Smochek, La’Mya Stowe, Bryanna Wilmoth.

A huge 12-team bracket competes for D-10 Little League supremacy and a spot in the Section 1 Tournament on Saturday.

Brady Baronick, Brycen Buzard, Axton Carr, Lance Davidson, Tyler Farrell, Brock Fike, Kellan Hoover, Kody Knisley, Cooper Knouse, Landon Liddle, Bryson Maicki, Luca Morelli are on the 11-12 DuBois Little League roster.

Ricky Buzard and Dom Morelli will aid summer manager Mike Davidson.

Mason Blasco, Hank Benton, Owen Bundy, Owen Dennison, Cam Gasbarre, Jordan Lockett, Colten Michaux, Ryan Mitchell, Rocco Morelli, Atley Palumbo, Everett Reiter, and Colby Shick make up the Minor League team.

Luke Bundy’s team plays June 27 in Warren. Wendy Benton, Brandon Reiter, and Shawn Blasco help Bundy. The D-10 tournament has nine Minor League clubs this year.

Like softball, DuBois will have a District 10-only 11-year-old baseball All-Star squad. DuBois advances to the Section 1 Tournament, which begins July 14 in Fairview.

Keagen Allaman, Dylan Colbey, Bentley Frederick, Darin Herzing, Carter Hoover, Alex Lyle, Kip Null, Max Sayers, Liam Schwentner, Owen Sweeney, MJ Varacallo, and Brock Yale are team members. Jason Yale and Dave Herzing help Brandon Lyle, the manager.

DuBois winning the division’s Eastern Regional Tournament undoubtedly boosted junior league baseball’s eight clubs this summer. The District 10 champion hosts Regionals and skips sectionals and states.

DuBois, managed by Tim Kail, begins Junior League play on July 14 at Kane with Evan Burton, Isaiah Chewning, Wes Clyde, Isaac Dennison, Chad Gerg, Brady Glass, Easton Harris, Brody Knouse, Bryson Kail, Jackson McCall, Jack Statler, and Seth Wilmoth. Ardie McCall and Patrick Dennison help Kail.

Chris Deeb will manage DuBois’ last All-Star team in Senior League baseball, which includes Hunter Allman, Samson Deeb, Danny Dixon, Aaron Eberly, Noah Farrell, Boston Graham, Talon Hodge, Quin Morgan, Nick Roman, Walker Thomas, Gavin Walls, and Brayden Zatsick.

DuBois will play Cameron County in a best-of-3 District 10 championship series with assistant coaches Dan Dixon and Greg Zatsick. Game 1 is June 26 in Emporium and Game 2 is June 28 in DuBois. June 30 would host a possible game.

The Senior League State Tournament will return to DuBois, while the District 10 champion will host Section 1.
