This past week, Damian Olivares became the latest member of the Cibola Raiders soccer team to announce their intention to continue playing the sport at the collegiate level.
Since he was a freshman, the senior midfielder has dreamed of playing for Ottawa University of Arizona’s Spirit soccer team, and he finally made good on his promise to join them by signing his letter of commitment to the school.
“I have been working toward today for the past four years, and it has finally come. Olivares stated, “Ever since I was a freshman in high school, I’ve always wanted to do this, and I’m just so happy that it’s finally going to happen for me.”
“I’m just hoping to mature more. I truly owe it to myself to become the kind of man I’ve always dreamed of wanting to be, and I need to get started right away.
Damian is considering making exercise science his academic focus while he is not playing sports.
In addition, the spring sports season in the Imperial Valley draws to a conclusion with a summary of the softball league honors. This comes after the Desert League and the Imperial Valley League announced their respective All-League teams, as well as their Player and Coach of the Year honorees.
